About My Work
The first forty years of my professional life as an elementary school teacher set the stage for my current calling as a counselor at New Hope Counseling Center. During my years in the classroom, I came to understand that presence—being fully there with another—is one of the most powerful tools we have for connection. That same attentiveness now shapes the way I accompany those seeking care and healing in this next season of life, as I offer counseling in retirement.
I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor with a Master of Science in Pastoral Clinical Mental Health Counseling. Simply put, I’m trained to provide thoughtful, comprehensive mental health support—and, when it’s meaningful to the person I’m walking with, to integrate spirituality as part of the healing journey. Since 2020, I’ve had the privilege to journey and companion with clients through seasons of growth, grief, and self-discovery.
My Approach to Counseling
Storms are inevitable on life’s journey. Most of us try to avoid them—and understandably so. But I’ve come to believe that storms, as unwelcome as they may be, hold the potential to create change and awaken strength in those who are willing to bend with the winds.
Suffering, pain, sadness, confusion, and loss—these are part of the human story. But they also carry within them the capacity to bring release, relief, joy, clarity, and newness. I walk with those who are navigating these spaces—those seeking wholeness, but who find themselves blocked by detours, heartaches, or old wounds.
I offer a steady, compassionate presence on the path. You are not alone. My hope is to remind you of your value, and to create space that honors hospitality, respects your dignity, and gently invites movement—even in the dark. Together, we step forward in courage toward greater healing—psychological, emotional, and spiritual.
Areas I Support
I am honored to work with adults (age 20+) and couples who find themselves facing life’s storms. Areas of focus include:
Anxiety & Stress – Helping you understand your emotions, build sustainable coping strategies, and feel more grounded.
Depression – Offering a safe, spacious place to be heard, to rest, and to rediscover hope.
Phase of Life Transitions – Walking with you through change, fostering clarity, self-awareness, and confidence.
Couples Counseling – Providing a supportive, neutral space where partners can speak honestly and work toward reconnection.
Bereavement & Loss – Companioning you through grief, honoring the depth of your loss while helping you navigate life beyond it.
What You Can Expect
In our time together, you can expect a space of deep presence and gentle care—where you are welcomed just as you are. I offer a quiet steadiness and a listening ear, rooted in respect for your story and the pace that feels right for you. Whether you're navigating grief, searching for clarity, or simply longing to feel whole again, I will walk alongside you with compassion, curiosity, and hope. This is a place where healing can unfold with honesty, courage, and kindness.
Where I Practice
I see clients both in-person at our Quarryville/Southern Lancaster office and virtually for anyone in Pennsylvania.
A Bit About Me
When I’m not counseling, I’m embracing life in the southern end of Lancaster County, where I live with my husband, an adorable little dog, and a wonderfully entitled cat. My two grown children live nearby, which brings me great joy. I love walking down country roads, practicing yoga, reading (the library is my favorite place), meeting new people, and enjoying the company of forever friends.
Your Story, Your Beliefs
At New Hope, we recognize that each person’s story is unique—and so is their worldview. Some clients find strength in exploring spiritual or existential themes, while others prefer a fully secular approach. We welcome both. Your counselor will collaborate with you to explore what matters most in your healing and growth journey, honoring the beliefs and values that are meaningful to you.
