New Hope Community Closet in Quarryville, PA, is seeking a Store Manager to oversee daily operations and lead the continued growth of our thrift store as part of our mission to bring hope and restoration to our community.
This full-time role is ideal for a leader who enjoys both hands-on retail operations and developing people—someone who can create a welcoming, well-run environment where staff, volunteers, donors, and customers feel valued and cared for.
Highlights of the Position:
Oversee all aspects of store operations, including donations, merchandising, and daily flow
Lead, train, and support staff and volunteers, fostering a positive and collaborative culture
Maintain a clean, organized, and inviting store environment
Monitor sales and expenses, helping guide the store toward strong financial performance
Partner with leadership on strategy, budgeting, and operational growth
A mission-driven environment where proceeds support local counseling services
Competitive salary ($40–$43K) with stipend toward health insurance and paid time off
Qualifications
A Christ-centered faith that informs both personal life and leadership, expressed through humility, servant leadership, and care for others
Retail or operations experience (thrift or resale a plus)
Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
Demonstrated experience in supervision and mentoring others
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment
Ability to work collaboratively with staff and volunteers

Part-Time Shift Leader

Looking for a hands-on role that makes a difference right here in Southern Lancaster County? New Hope Community Closet is growing—and we’re inviting two dependable, people-oriented team members to help us create a welcoming and organized shopping experience for our neighbors.
We are currently seeking one part-time Shift Leader to work 18–20 hours per week. This role is ideal for someone with retail experience who enjoys working with volunteers, helping customers, and making sure things run smoothly both behind the scenes and on the sales floor.
At New Hope, the Community Closet is more than just a thrift store—it’s a place where generosity and community care come together. Proceeds directly support New Hope’s counseling services and programs that bring hope and healing to local families.
In addition to regular retail and customer service responsibilities, the Shift Leader also serves as a trusted key holder—assisting with opening and closing the store, handling the register, and ensuring smooth operations when a manager is not present.
